不思議光菩薩所說經 [bu si yi guang pu sa suo shuo jing]—Sutra Spoken by the Bodhisattva of Inconceivable Light

【經名 [jing ming]】Sutra Title: One scroll (一卷 [yi juan]), translated by Kumārajīva of the Qin Dynasty (秦羅什 [qin luo shen]).

The Buddha (佛 [fu]) was in the Jetavana Grove (祇陀林 [qi tuo lin]). A prostitute (婬女 [yin nu]) abandoned a small child (小兒 [xiao er]) by the roadside. Everyone went to see it. The Buddha went to the child and engaged in various question-and-answer sessions. Then, he made the child manifest supernatural powers (現通 [xian tong]). All devas (諸天 [zhu tian]), illuminated by the light, gathered. Hence, it was named "Inconceivable Light" (不思議光 [bu si yi guang]). The Buddha told King Prasenajit (波斯匿王 [bo si ni wang]) about the child's past causes (往因 [wang yin]) and bestowed a prediction of Buddhahood (授記 [shou ji]).
