不淨金剛 [bu jing jin gang]—Impure Vajra—[Vidyaraja (明王 [ming wang])] Ucchuṣma (烏芻沙摩 [wu chu sha mo]), translated as Impure Vajra, also called Touch Vajra (觸金剛 [chu jin gang]). This Vidyaraja is a manifestation of Acala Vidyaraja (不動明王 [bu dong ming wang]), who subdues all impure spirits (不淨鬼 [bu jing gui]). Therefore, he is enshrined in the lavatory (東司 [dong si]), and his mantra (真言 [zhen yan]) is recited when entering the lavatory. The Sutra of the Great Potent Ucchuṣma Vidyaraja (大威力烏樞瑟摩明王經 [da wei li wu shu se mo ming wang jing]) states: "The teachings of Ucchuṣma Vidyaraja do not distinguish between purity and impurity; he always manifests a wrathful form. Reciting his mantra 300,000 times will yield results." The ninth volume of the Commentary on the Mahavairocana Sutra (大日經疏 [da ri jing shu]) states: "At that time, Acala Vidyaraja, receiving the Buddha's command to summon him, saw him doing such things and immediately transformed into Touch Vajra (which is Impure Vajra), instructing him to take it. At that moment, Impure Vajra instantly consumed all impurities, leaving nothing behind." The ninth volume of the Collection of Dharanis Sutra (陀羅尼集經 [tuo luo ni ji jing]) states: "Ucchuṣma (烏樞沙摩 [wu shu sha mo]), in Tang Chinese, means Impure Vajra (不淨潔金剛 [bu jing jie jin gang])."
