Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationBrahmastrī (ब्रह्मस्त्री) is the name of a River, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.37 (“The letter of betrothal is dispatched”).—Accordingly, as Himavat prepared the wedding of Menā and Śiva: “[...] The brilliant rivers, Śoṇabhadra and others came delightfully to be present at the marriage of Śiva and Śivā. All the rivers bedecked in ornaments came lovingly in divine forms at the marriage of Śiva and Śivā. The rivers Godāvarī Yamunā Brahmastrī and Veṇikā came to attend the marriage of Śiva and Śivā. [...]”.
Note: The river Brahmastrī can be identified with the river Sarasvatī See Note 35 P. 47.
