Boppa is the name of a general (daṇḍanāyaka) of king Vijaya (Vijayāditya), according to the “Khidrāpur stone inscription of the reign of Vijayāditya”. It describes the daṇḍanāyaka (General) Boppa as a terror to the enemies of the King and the foremost among his warriors who were proficient in the destruction of his enemies.

This inscription (mentioing Boppa) is incised below a bracket figure on the outer wall of the temple of Koppeśvara at Khidrāpur, a village in the Shirol tālukā of the Kolhāpur District.
