Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarBilvakādi (बिल्वकादि).—A class of words headed by the word बिल्वक (bilvaka) the affix ईय (īya) (छ) placed after which is elided when another tad. affix such as अण् (aṇ) or the like is placed after them; cf. बिल्वा यस्यां सन्ति बिल्वकी तस्यां भवाः बैल्वकाः (bilvā yasyāṃ santi bilvakī tasyāṃ bhavāḥ bailvakāḥ) Kas. on P.VI.4.153.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
