Bhūgolaka (भूगोलक) or Bhūgola refers to the “globe of the earth”, as mentioned in the Yogavasistha 7.127 (“Cosmology of the universe”).—Accordingly, as Rāma asked Vasiṣṭha narrated: “Please, tell me sir, how this globe of the earth [i.e., bhūgolaka] is situated, how and where the polar mountain stands upon it, and do the stars revolve about the same”.
