Bhīmādi (भीमादि).—A class of words headed by the word भीम (bhīma) in which the Uṇādi affixes म (ma) and others, as prescribed by specific Uṇādi sūtras, are found added in the sense of the 'apādāna' case-relation; e.g. भीमः (bhīmaḥ) in the sense 'बिभेति अस्मात् (bibheti asmāt)'. Similarly भीष्मः, भूमिः, रजः (bhīṣmaḥ, bhūmiḥ, rajaḥ) etc. cf. Kāś. on P.III.4.74.
