Source: archive.org: Sushruta samhita, Volume IBhedāśi (भेदाशि) or Bhedāśi (भेदाशिन्)—Sanskrit word for a bird corresponding to “bhekāśin” (eats frogs). This animal is from the group called Pratuda (which peck). Pratuda itself is a sub-group of the group of animals known as Jāṅghala (living in high ground and in a jungle).
The flesh of the Bhedāshi tends to vitiate the humours and to derange the three excrements of the body.
Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics. Traditional practice of Āyurveda in ancient India dates back to at least the first millenium BC. Literature is commonly written in Sanskrit using various poetic metres.
