1) denying the occurrence of a possible future event.

2) a kind of Alaṅkāra or figure of speech; सोऽयं भविष्यदाक्षेपः प्रागेवातिमनस्विनी । कदाचिदपराधोऽस्य भावीत्येवमरुन्द्ध यत् (so'yaṃ bhaviṣyadākṣepaḥ prāgevātimanasvinī | kadācidaparādho'sya bhāvītyevamarunddha yat) Kāv.2.126.
