bhaṇabhaṇa (भणभण) [or णां, ṇāṃ].—ad Imit. of the sound of buzzing or humming; also of the whistling noise made by the wind in passing through an empty house &c. Ex. vārā bha0 vāhatō. bhaṇabhaṇa or ṇāṃ karaṇēṃ To sing or sound from very emptiness; to sound vacant and hollow, and thus convey an impression of nakedness, dreariness, desolateness--an empty house, uninhabited wilderness, deserted village. 2 also with phiraṇēṃ To run about wildly, to roam or rove.
