Bhaikṣya (भैक्ष्य).—[bhikṣā-ṣyañ] Food got by begging, alms, charity; see भैक्ष (bhaikṣa); अयाचितं तु तद् भैक्ष्यं भोक्तव्यं मनुरब्रवीत् (ayācitaṃ tu tad bhaikṣyaṃ bhoktavyaṃ manurabravīt) Uśanāh Dharmaśāstra; गुरूनहत्वा हि महानुभावान् श्रेयो भोक्तुं भैक्ष्यमपीह लोके (gurūnahatvā hi mahānubhāvān śreyo bhoktuṃ bhaikṣyamapīha loke) Bg.2.5.
