Bārakoṇāghāṭa (बारकोणाघाट) or Nagarīyāghāṭa is mentioned in the Śrī Navadvīpa-dhāma-māhātmya, parikramā-khaṇḍa 5.104-105: “Five dhanuṣa (ten metres) north of Mādhāī- ghāṭa is the most beautiful Bārakoṇā-ghāṭa. This ghāṭa attract the minds of all persons in the town and is also called Nagarīyā-ghāṭa. Viśvakarmā constructed this ghāṭa on the order of Śrīman Mahāprabhu”.
