barakata (बरकत).—f n ( A) Success, happy termination, prosperous issue: also successfulness, prosperousness, luckiness. Ex. jyācēṃ daiva anukūla nāhīṃ tyāsa kōṇatyāhī vyavahārānta ba0 yēta nāhīṃ; cōrī karūna lākhōṃ rupayē jarīṃ mēḷavilē tarīṃ tyānta ba0 nāhīṃ; hā śāhaṇā udyōgī āhē parantu hyāsa ba0 nāhīṃ. 2 Overplus of good; advantage or benefit above the degree expected (resulting from an undertaking or a business). 3 The word used for the number one in counting or measuring anything, for good luck. ba0 sōḍaṇēṃ To lose its richness or fertility--a soil.
