寶乘 [bao cheng]—(bǎo chéng) — [Analogy] Also known as 寶車 [bao che] (bǎo chē), it refers to the 大白牛車 [da bai niu che] (dà bái niú chē), the great white ox-cart. It is used as an analogy for the doctrine of the 一乘 [yi cheng] (yī chéng), the One Vehicle, taught in the 法華經 [fa hua jing] (fǎ huá jīng), the Lotus Sutra. The 譬喻品 [pi yu pin] (pì yù pǐn), the Parable Chapter of the Sutra, states: "Riding this precious vehicle, one directly reaches the place of enlightenment."
寶乘—【譬喻】又云寶車，大白牛車也，以譬法華經所說一乘之法。經譬喻品曰：「乘此寶乘，直至道場。」
[pì yù] yòu yún bǎo chē, dà bái niú chē yě, yǐ pì fǎ huá jīng suǒ shuō yī chéng zhī fǎ. jīng pì yù pǐn yuē: “chéng cǐ bǎo chéng, zhí zhì dào chǎng.”

寶城 [bao cheng]—"Treasure City" – [A] metaphor (譬喻 [pi yu]) for a city filled with treasures (珍寶 [zhen bao]), used to symbolize the Buddha's True Dharma (正法 [zheng fa]).
The Nirvana Sutra (涅槃經 [nie pan jing]), Volume 2, states: "You Bhikshus (比丘 [bi qiu]), how does one adorn (莊嚴 [zhuang yan]) the Treasure City of the True Dharma? By being fully endowed with various merits, treasures (珍寶 [zhen bao]), precepts (戒 [jie]), concentration (定 [ding]), and wisdom (智慧 [zhi hui]) to serve as its walls, moats (牆塹 [qiang qian]), and battlements (埤堄 [pi ni]). Now that you have encountered this Treasure City of the Buddha's Dharma (佛法 [fu fa]), you should not cling to these false and illusory things (虛偽之物 [xu wei zhi wu])."
寶城—【譬喻】珍寶充滿之城郭也，以譬佛之正法。涅槃經二曰：「汝等比丘，云何莊嚴正法寶城？具足種種功德珍寶戒定智慧以為牆塹埤堄，汝今遇是佛法寶城，不應取此虛偽之物。」
[pì yù] zhēn bǎo chōng mǎn zhī chéng guō yě, yǐ pì fú zhī zhèng fǎ. niè pán jīng èr yuē: “rǔ děng bǐ qiū, yún hé zhuāng yán zhèng fǎ bǎo chéng？ jù zú zhǒng zhǒng gōng dé zhēn bǎo jiè dìng zhì huì yǐ wèi qiáng qiàn pí nì, rǔ jīn yù shì fú fǎ bǎo chéng, bù yīng qǔ cǐ xū wěi zhī wù.”
[pi yu] zhen bao chong man zhi cheng guo ye, yi pi fu zhi zheng fa. nie pan jing er yue: "ru deng bi qiu, yun he zhuang yan zheng fa bao cheng? ju zu zhong zhong gong de zhen bao jie ding zhi hui yi wei qiang qian pi ni, ru jin yu shi fu fa bao cheng, bu ying qu ci xu wei zhi wu."

Protect and Perfect (保護成全 [bao hu cheng quan]). From "The Classic of History" (書經 [shu jing]), "Announcement about Wine" (酒誥 [jiu gao]): "From King Tang (成湯 [cheng tang]) all the way to King Di Yi (帝乙 [di yi]), the accomplished kings (成王 [cheng wang]) revered their ministers (相 [xiang])." Han (漢 [han]) Dynasty, Kong Anguo's (孔安國 [kong an guo]) Commentary (傳 [chuan]): "From Tang (湯 [tang]) to Di Yi (帝乙 [di yi]), the kings (王 [wang]) in between still protected and perfected their kingly way (王道 [wang dao]), respecting and revering (畏敬 [wei jing]) their assisting ministers (輔相之臣 [fu xiang zhi chen]), daring not to do wrong (不敢為非 [bu gan wei fei])."

報稱 [bào chēng] [bao cheng]—
To repay others' kindness (恩德 [en de]) with an equal amount of return (回饋 [hui kui]). Later, it broadly refers to repayment (報答 [bao da]). From Hanshu (漢書 [han shu]), Volume 81, "Biographies of Kuang, Zhang, Kong, and Ma" (匡張孔馬傳 [kuang zhang kong ma chuan]), Kong Guang (孔光 [kong guang]) stated: "Your servant Guang (光 [guang])'s wisdom and strategies are shallow (智謀短淺 [zhi mou duan qian]), and I am old and feeble (犬馬齒臷 [quan ma chi die]). I truly fear that if I stumble one day (一旦顛仆 [yi dan dian pu]), I will have no means to repay your grace (無以 [wu yi])."
報稱：以等量的回饋，報答他人的恩德。後泛指報答。《漢書．卷八一．匡張孔馬傳．孔光》：「臣光智謀短淺，犬馬齒臷，誠恐一旦顛仆，無以報稱。」
