半娜婆 [ban na po]—(Bàn nà pó) — [Botany] Fruit name.

Ke Hong's Yinyi (Pronunciation Glossary) Volume 1 says: "半娜 [ban na] (Bàn nà), pronounced 'na' (according to the fǎnqiè method using 奴 [nu] and 可 [ke]), is also named (Bàn nà pó), also called 般捺婆 [ban na po], and also called 波那婆 [bo na po]. Xiyu Ji (Records of the Western Regions) says: Its fruit is as large as a 冬瓜 [dong gua] (dōng guā) (winter melon); when ripe, it is yellow-red. When cut open, there are dozens of small fruits inside, larger than a 鸡卵 [ji luan] (jī luǎn) (chicken egg). And upon further cutting, its juice is yellow-red, and its taste is sweet and delicious."

Xuanying's Yinyi (Pronunciation Glossary) Volume 24 says: "(Bàn nà pó), formerly called 波那婆 [bo na po]. The fruit's shape is like a 冬瓜 [dong gua] (dōng guā) (winter melon), and its taste is very sweet."

婆 [po] (Pó) is an error for 娑 [suo] (Suō).
梵 [fan] (Fàn) Panasa (Sanskrit).
