Source: archive.org: Vagbhata’s Ashtanga Hridaya Samhita (first 5 chapters)Balāvaha (बलावह) refers to “generative of strength”, and is mentioned in verse 1.15 of the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (Sūtrasthāna) by Vāgbhaṭa.—Balāvaha (“generative of strength”) has been rendered by stobs chen “great in strength”, which corresponds to mahābala in Sanskrit (see Mahāvyutpatti, 3343). Here again it would be quite possible to assume a variant reading in the translators’ copy.
