baiṭhaka (बैठक).—f ( H) An assembly or a company (met whether for grave deliberation or for diversion). 2 The session of an assembly. 3 Sitting, session, remaining seated for a time. Ex. hēṃ kāma ubhyāubhyānīṃ hōṇāra nāhīṃ tumacī āmacī cāra ghaṭa- kā bai0 jhālī pāhijē. 4 A seat or manner of sitting. 5 Anything spread or placed to sit on, any seat; a carpet, mat, cloth, stool, chair, sofa, bench. 6 A pedestal, stand, socket, foot-receptacle gen. 7 The bottom or foot of a thing. 8 Stall-tax in a market. 9 Squatting down (as through fatigue or stubbornness, or in detention or restraint of). ēkā baiṭhakīsa At one sitting.

1) Baiṭhaka (बैठक) [Also spelled baithak]:—(nf) sitting; meeting; drawing room; a kind of exercise performed by repeated alternation of sitting and standing postures (as [ḍaṃḍa-baiṭhaka]); a seat; base; a pedestal (of an idol); ~[khānā] drawing room; ~[bāja] habituated to prolonged sittings (devoted to gossipinged, idle talk, etc.); ~[bājī] prolonged sittings (for gossiping, idle talk, etc).
