bailamāṛyā (बैलमाऱ्या).—m (Bullock-killer.) A name amongst the vāṇī & kuṇabī classes for the planet Jupiter. (Because the rising of this planet being sometimes mistaken for that of Venus, and the dawn thus being judged to be approaching, travelers start off their cattle to encounter, it may be, long darkness with all its troubles and accidents).
