白了了 [bái le le] [bai le le]—
"Pale" (苍白 [cang bai]) describes a face completely devoid of color/blood. From Chapter 28 of The Later Journey to the West (后西游记 [hou xi you ji]): "When he rushed over to look, Elder Tang's (唐长 [tang zhang]) face was already frozen deathly pale (的 [de]), completely devoid of human color (没些人色 [mei xie ren se])."
白了了:蒼白,形容臉上毫無血色。《後西遊記》第二八回:「奔到面前看時,唐長老面上已凍得白了了的沒些人色。」
bái le le: cāng bái, xíng róng liǎn shàng háo wú xuè sè. < hòu xī yóu jì> dì èr bā huí: “bēn dào miàn qián kàn shí, táng zhǎng lǎo miàn shàng yǐ dòng dé bái le le de méi xiē rén sè.”
