Bahvapekṣa (बह्वपेक्ष).—lit. depending on many; the word is used in the sense of depending on many causal factors (निमित्तानि (nimittāni)) and given as the definition of a kind of बहिरङ्ग (bahiraṅga) by some grammarians; cf. अल्पापेक्षमन्तरङ्गं बह्वपेक्षं बहिरङ्गम् (alpāpekṣamantaraṅgaṃ bahvapekṣaṃ bahiraṅgam) . This kind of अन्तरङ्गबहिरङ्गत्व (antaraṅgabahiraṅgatva), cited by Kaiyata is, however, disapproved by Nagesabhatta; cf. बहुिरङ्गान्तरङ्गाशब्दाभ्यां बह्वपेक्षत्वाल्पापेक्षत्वयोः शब्दमर्यादया अलाभाच्च । तथा सति असिद्धं बह्वपेक्षमल्पापेक्षे इत्येव वदेत् । (bahuिraṅgāntaraṅgāśabdābhyāṃ bahvapekṣatvālpāpekṣatvayoḥ śabdamaryādayā alābhācca | tathā sati asiddhaṃ bahvapekṣamalpāpekṣe ityeva vadet |) Par.
