Bahumadhyagata (बहुमध्यगत).—A word which has entered between two constituent words of a compound by splitting in a way the compound e. g. the word च (ca) in ईयते नरा च शंसं दैव्यम् (īyate narā ca śaṃsaṃ daivyam) Rg. Veda IX. 86.42; cf. एतानि परिगृह्णीयात् बहूमध्यगतानि च । (etāni parigṛhṇīyāt bahūmadhyagatāni ca |) R.Pr.X.7. explained by Uvvata as बहूनां पदानां मध्यगतानि च यानि पदानि तानि अतिक्रम्य परिगृह्णीयात् (bahūnāṃ padānāṃ madhyagatāni ca yāni padāni tāni atikramya parigṛhṇīyāt) !
