Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationBahisthāna (बहिस्थान) refers to “waiting outside”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.51 (“The resuscitation of Kāma”).—Accordingly, as Śiva said to Kāma: “O Kāma, I am delighted. O intelligent one, do not fear. Go near Viṣṇu and wait outside [bahisthāna—bahisthāne sthito bhava]”.
