India history and geography
Barchana or Badchana is the name of an archaeological important site situated in the Jajpur district, in the Indian state of Odisha. Various artifacts have been found, such as a miniature shrine that was unearthed in a pond at Khaera village, discovered during renovation work of a 400-year-old ancient pond near Kanakeswar Mahadev temple. Other Buddhist artifacts, dating back to the 8th century, were discovered at Majhipara. These include three broken Arghya-Stupas (domes), believed to be made of stones from the Buddhist era and remains of a temple found near the stupas; and belonging to period between 8th and 11th century. The first stupa carries an engraved shape of Boddhisattva in mediation posture, the second bears an idol of Chatrubhuja Kurukula while the third stupa carries an idol engraved on it. According to researcher Harischandra Prusty, “These Buddhist artifacts are contemporary with the ones discovered in other Buddhist shrines of Nalanda, Bodhagaya, Sarnath, Kurum and Bajragiri in India and Buddhist shrine of Java in Indonesia”.

The history of India traces the identification of countries, villages, towns and other regions of India, as well as mythology, zoology, royal dynasties, rulers, tribes, local festivities and traditions and regional languages. Ancient India enjoyed religious freedom and encourages the path of Dharma, a concept common to Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism.
