跋陂菩薩經 [ba bei pu sa jing]—Bappi Bodhisattva Sūtra — [Sūtra Title] (經名 [jing ming]): One fascicle (卷 [juan]), anonymous translation (失譯 [shi yi]). It is a variant translation (異譯 [yi yi]) of the Pratyutpanna Samādhi Sūtra (般舟三昧經 [ban zhou san mei jing]). The Banzhou Sūtra (般舟經 [ban zhou jing]) was taught at the request (請 [qing]) of Bappi Bodhisattva (拔陂菩薩 [ba bei pu sa]). `拔陂 [ba bei]` (Bappi) is an abbreviation (略稱 [lue cheng]) for `跋陀婆羅 [ba tuo po luo]` (Bhadrapāla), which is translated as `賢護 [xian hu]` (Wise Protector).
