Source: Wisdom Library: Āyurveda and botanyBālacaturbhadrā (बालचतुर्भद्रा) is a medicinal formulation (of the cūrṇa type, ‘powder’), according to the Ṣoḍaśāṅgahṛdayam (Ayurvedic medicinal work in Sanskrit). The following ingredients should be taken in equal part: Karkaṭaśṛṅgī, Pippalī, Ativiṣā and Musta. The Bālacaturbhadrā recipe is administered when the following symptoms are indicated:—Pediatric disoders such as cough, fever, diarrhoea and vomiting.
The recipe should be prepared according to the Cūrṇa (‘powdered herbs’) process. Using this Ayurvedic preparation means you have to dry the herbs and and finely ground them until powder remains. You cannot add any liquid to this preparation.
Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics.
