Āyrājas (आय्राजस्).—Name of a class of Kings. Till the beginning of the 10th century A.D. Āyrājas were a prominent political force in Kerala. They ruled over a huge area in S. Kerala (S. Travancore) till the time of the Veṇād dynasty coming into power.
