It contains ten suttas on various subjects such as the seven states of man (purisagati), anupada parinibbana, the knowledge Brahmas possess regarding sa upadisesa- and anupadisesa nibbana, imparted to them by Moggallana, the reason why the Dhamma will not last long, the seven kinds of wives who are like murderers, etc.
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
