Aviṣamapāda (अविषमपाद) or Aviṣamapādatā refers to “even feet” and represents the tenth of the “eighty secondary characteristics” (anuvyañjana) as defined in the Dharma-saṃgraha (section 83). The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., aviṣama-pāda). The work is attributed to Nagarguna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.

Aviṣamapāda (अविषमपाद) refers to “even feet” and represents the tenth of the eighty minor marks of distinction (anuvyañjana) mentioned in the Sukhāvatī and following the order of the Mahāvyutpatti (269-348). In Tibetan, the characteristic called Aviṣamapāda is known as ‘zhabs mi mñam pa med pa’. The Sukhāvatī represents a prayer for rebirth which was composed by Karma chags med, a Karma bka’ brgyud master, who lived in the seventeenth century.
