Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionaryavasthābhēda (अवस्थाभेद).—m pl S or jivācē avasthābhēda The variations (varied states) of the Soul, viz. jāgrada- vasthā, svapnāvasthā, suṣupatyavasthā Waking, dreaming, sound sleep. The first is referred to viṣṇu and to satvaguṇa; the second to brahmadēva and to rajōguṇa; the third to śiva and to namōguṇa; and they are termed respectively viśrva, taijasa, prājña. To these three states, when the full consideration of the Soul is to be entertained, two other are added, turīyā & unmanī q. v. in loc.
