Source: Wisdom Library: Nāṭya-śāstraAvaspandita (अवस्पन्दित, “ominous significance”) refers to one of the thirteen types of vīthi, according to the Nāṭyaśāstra chapter 20. Avaspandita can also be translated as “re-interpretation”. Vīthi represents one of the daśarūpa or, “ten kinds of dramatic plays”, which are said to have originated from the various styles (vṛtti), discussed in chapter 22 of the same work.
