Avaskandana (अवस्कन्दन).—

1) Attacking; attack, assault; अवस्कन्दं करिष्यामि शिबिरस्याद्य दुष्करम् (avaskandaṃ kariṣyāmi śibirasyādya duṣkaram) Mahābhārata (Bombay) 1.3.27. °प्रदानम् (pradānam) Pañcatantra (Bombay) 3.39 leading an assault.

2) Descending; स नद्यव- स्कन्दमुपास्पृशच्च (sa nadyava- skandamupāspṛśacca) Bhaṭṭikāvya 2.11.

3) A camp (jigīṣūṇām niveśasthānam Halāy.).

4) (in law) Accusation.
