Avaśyāyapaṭṭa (अवश्यायपट्ट).—or -paṭa, m., lit. frost-cloth, a fine silk fabric, allegedly ‘used for protection against frost’ ([Tibetan-English Dictionary]) = Tibetan dar-la (which also renders paṭṭāṃśu Mahāvyutpatti 5881 and aṃśuka 9166): Mahāvyutpatti 5880 °paṭṭaḥ (v.l. °paṭaḥ: Mironov °paṭṭaḥ, no v.l.); Lalitavistara 162.17 (prose) avaśyāya- paṭa-vitata-vitāne.
