Avantipura (अवन्तिपुर).—Here lived Sāndīpani of Kāśī;1 also Avantikā;2 one of the seven great cities. One of its kings married Rājādhidevī and became father of Vinda and Anuvinda.3 Capital of the sons of Kārtavīrya Arjuna.4 The navel of the Veda Puruṣa.5
