aṭharā dhānyēṃ (अठरा धान्यें).—n pl The eighteen superior grains; viz. gahūṃ, sāḷa,tūra,java,jōndhaḷā,vāṭāṇā, lāṅka, caṇā, javasa, masūra, mūga, rāḷā, tīḷa, harīka, kuḷītha, sāvā, uḍīda, cavaḷī, as per Shlok, gōdhūma śāli tuvarī yava yāvanāla vātāna laṅka caṇakā atasā masurāḥ || mudga priyaṅgutila kōdravakāḥ kulitthāḥ śyāmāka māṣa cavalā iti dhānyavargaḥ || 1 ॥
