āṭhanahāṇa (आठनहाण).—n The ceremony of the ablution of the bridegroom and bride on the eighth day after the marriage. This ceremony is observed four times; viz. on the eighth day, on the tenth day, on the sixteenth day, and on the completion of the month, after the marriage; and it is called, respectively, āṭhanahāṇa, dasanahāṇa, sōḷanahāṇa, māsanahāṇa: also āṭhabandhana, dasabandhana, sāḷabandhana, māsabandhana.
