Aśvapatyādi (अश्वपत्यादि).—A class of words headed by अश्वपति (aśvapati) to which the taddhita affix अण् (aṇ) (अ) is added in the senses mentioned in rules before the rule तेन दीव्यति० (tena dīvyati०) P.IV.4.2, which are technically called the Prāgdīvyatiya senses. e g. अश्वपतम्, गाणपतम् (aśvapatam, gāṇapatam). गार्हपतम् (gārhapatam) etc.
