Aśvahaya (अश्वहय).—a. [aśvena hinoti gacchati hi kartari ac]

1) driving or spurring a horse, riding a horse; प्रत्यर्धिर्यज्ञानामश्वहयो रथानाम् (pratyardhiryajñānāmaśvahayo rathānām) Ṛgveda 1.26. 5.

2) to be traversed by a horse; समस्य हरिं हरयो मृजन्त्यश्वहयैरनिशितं नमोभिः (samasya hariṃ harayo mṛjantyaśvahayairaniśitaṃ namobhiḥ) Ṛgveda 9.96.2.
