Sacred conjunction of the sun and the moon, at sunrise on a Sunday with Śravaṇa nakṣatra and viyatīpāta yōga, in the month of Tai, distinct from மகோதயம்; தையமாவாசையும் ஞாயிற் றுக்கிழமையும் திருவோணமும் வியதீபாதமும் கூடிய சூரியோதய புண்ணியகாலம். மாசிமகத்தி லர்த்தோதயத் தில் [magothayam; thaiyamavasaiyum gnayir rukkizhamaiyum thiruvonamum viyathipathamum kudiya suriyothaya punniyagalam. masimagathi larthothayath thil] (அருணாசலபுராணம் பு. திருமலைவலம்.
