Ardhapravṛttā (अर्धप्रवृत्ता) refers to one of the varieties of the catuṣpadā type of song, according to the Nāṭyaśāstra chapter 31. Accordingly, “the song in which the sthitā or the pravṛttā is half applied, is called ardhapravṛttā, and it is created by both of these two”.
