Source: archive.org: Puranic EncyclopediaArdhacandravyūha (अर्धचन्द्रव्यूह) or simply Ardhacandra refers to the “Disposition of an army like a Crescent moon”.—Disposition of an army (vyūha) of four parts, (infantry, cavalry, elephants and chariots) in the battlefield, the arrangement of it, in various forms. It is said that during the period of Mahābhārata, there were various forms of disposition of the army.—Ardhacandravyūha is mentioned in the Mahābhārata Bhīṣma Parva, Chapter 56.
