Āptopasevin (आप्तोपसेविन्) refers to one who “keeps to the great”, as mentioned in verse 4.35 of the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (Sūtrasthāna) by Vāgbhaṭa.—Accordingly, “[...] (by) always keeping to wholesome nourishment and deportment, acting upon mature consideration, being indifferent to worldly objects, generous, balanced, intent on truth, (and) full of patience, and keeping to the great [viz., āptopasevin]: one becomes free from disease”.
