(-taḥ-tā-tam) (ved.) Beautiful, or made splendid, in the waters; in the Atharvav.: viṣṇoḥ kramo’si sapatnahāpsusaṃśito varuṇatejāḥ; (comp. also Vājas.: saṃśito apsvapsujā brahmā somapurogavaḥ, as epithet of the horse of the Aśvamedha; Mahīdh.: saṃpūrvaḥ śyatiḥ śobhanārthaḥ …saṃśito darśanīyaḥ… or saṃśitaḥ śobhitaḥ). E. apsu (loc. plur. of ap) and saṃśita.
