Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesA fish who lived in the Ganges with his brothers Bahucinti and Mitacinti. He and Bahucinti were caught in a fishermans net and were rescued by Mitacinti. The story is told in the Mitacinti Jat. (i.427-8).
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
