Apiṭēkam (அபிடேகம்) noun < abhi-ṣēka.

1. Bathing of an idol with water, oil, ghee, milk, honey and other substances; திருமஞ்சனம். [thirumanchanam.]

2. Inauguration of a king by anointing, consecration of a priest; பட்டஞ் சூட்டுங் கிரியை. மன்ன னைப் பராசரன்றா னபிடேகம் . . . வழங்க [pattagn suttung kiriyai. manna naip parasaranra napidegam . . . vazhanga] (சேதுபுராணம் மங்கல. [sethupuranam mangala.] 79).
