Apāvṛt (अपावृत्):—[tatpurusha compound] f. (-t) (ved.) Returning; anapāvṛt ‘so as not to return again’; said of the waters which go to the ocean. E. vṛt with apa, kṛt aff. kvip, the final vowel of the prefix being lengthened, according to the Pada text and the Prātisākhya of the Ṛgveda.
