1) To avert, destroy, dissipate; तमः, शत्रुम् (tamaḥ, śatrum) &c.
2) To tear off, pull out, take out.
3) To conclude, finish, absolve. Caus.
1) To leave, quit, abandon, avoid; दूरापवर्जितच्छत्रैः शिरोभिः (dūrāpavarjitacchatraiḥ śirobhiḥ) R.17.79 keeping the umbrellas at a (great) distance; त्वयात्महस्तेन मही मदच्युता मतङ्गजेन स्रगिवापवर्जिता (tvayātmahastena mahī madacyutā mataṅgajena sragivāpavarjitā) Kirātārjunīya 1.29 abandoned, left, lost.
2) To let go, drop down, throw, pour; सुमनसो दिव्याः खेचरैरपवर्जिताः (sumanaso divyāḥ khecarairapavarjitāḥ) Bhāg.; करयुग्मपद्ममुकुलापवर्जितैः (karayugmapadmamukulāpavarjitaiḥ) Śi. 13.37.
