1) Relating to traffic, market &c.; mercantile; सम्मार्जितमहामार्गरथ्यापणक- चत्वराम् (sammārjitamahāmārgarathyāpaṇaka- catvarām) Bhāgavata 1.11.14.

2) Got from the market (as duties.).

-kaḥ 1 A shop-keeper, merchant, dealer.

2) A tax on market shops.

3) Assize, market-rate.
