(-vaḥ) The dominion of one over the other (see the following). Ii. [bahuvrihi compound] m. (vaḥ) One predominating over the other; a condition of the three guṇa or qualities sattva, rajas and tamas qq. vv.; viz. when sattwa prevails, it overpowers rajas and tamas &c. Compare the following and anyonyajanana. E. anyonya and abhibhava.
