Anyajanman (अन्यजन्मन्) refers to “another life”, according to the Amanaska Yoga treatise dealing with meditation, absorption, yogic powers and liberation.—Accordingly, as Īśvara says to Vāmadeva: “[...] The highest reality [can] manifest spontaneously because of a [yoga] practice performed in another life (anyajanman), like a [former] idea [returns to] one who has awoken from sleep, without [any] teaching or the like. [However], for one whose practice is pure and who is peaceful, knowledge of the highest reality appears in this very [birth] because of the Guru’s favour [which is won by] serving him.[...]”.
