Anvadhyāyam (अन्वध्यायम्):—Avyayībh.

1) Chapter for chapter.

2) According to, or conformably to, the chapters (esp. of the vaidik writings), e. g. (in Lāṭyāyana’s Kalpasūtras) anvadhyāyamapavādaniśāmanam (comm. adhyāyamanu anvadhyāyam . anvadhyāyamapavādo niśāmayitavyaḥ . anvadhyāyaṃ nyāyyānāṃ chandodaivatasāmāntānāmapavādaḥ).

3) In the vaidik language; used in this sense by Yāska in contradistinction from bhāṣāyām ‘in the classical idiom’. E. anu and adhyāya.
